About Miniature Fantasies, Inc.
Miniature Fantasies, Inc. is a non-profit organization with the
objective to raise funds for charitable organizations and support
further education in the field of miniatures.
The Board consists of 12 volunteer members who represent the
Kansas City Area Miniature Clubs and Miniature community.
The current officers are:
Laura Way - President
Debbie Baker - Vice President
Barbara Griggs - Secretary
Rochell Howard - Treasurer
Other members: Gail Holly, Sharra Shafer, Gloria Stuckey, Tracey
Shafer, and Elizabeth Bowman.
Carolyn Stephenson and Betsy Jensen incorporated miniature Fantasies
in February 1985. Other founding members included Myra Bacharach,
Judy Fisler, Carol Hylton, Suzanne Landshof, Cozette Spurney,
Joanne Trainor, Stephanie Wilson and Nellie Yeddis.
The proceeds from the show and sale will benefit the following
charities:
Concerned Care, Inc. - Their mission
is to "maximize the capability of individuals with developmental
disabilities to manage their own lives and minimize their dependence
on others". Concerned Care provides residential support services
and a community integrated recreation program.
The Fox 4 Love Fund for Children
- provides essential services to children ages 18 or under. Assistance
by the Love Fund comes in a variety of ways from new clothing
to life-saving surgery. More often, the Love fund provides small
miracles such as a pair of eyeglasses, speech therapy, medical
and dental assistance, tutoring, school supplies and summer camps.
